Our History

The American Psychiatric Association guidelines

The American Psychiatric Association guidelines

Since our founding in 2015, The L.O.V.E. Approach for living with Dementia, we are dedicated to providing a friends and family-centered approach when supporting persons living with a neurocognitive disorder at home. Recognizing families supporting someone with dementia at home, were not receiving trainings specific to their needs, and the diagnosis of Early on-set Alzheimers's disease of a beloved coach, I was inspired to support families living in the community.

The American Psychiatric Association guidelines emphasize a multifaceted approach to dementia treatment, with a strong recommendation the first treatment approach is to use  “non-pharmacological“ interventions (ecopsychosocial) and address the symptoms of dementia, and use a careful pharmacological interventions if symptoms become more severe.
